We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful state, with 250 days of sunshine a year, snow-capped mountains, and lots of beauty and adventure to experience. Hailey, Idaho, in particular, is home to multiple hiking and biking trails, nature areas, and other attractions.

At The Marcroft Team, we know full well how wonderful the Hailey area is. Our families have lived in the area for a few generations, and we know it inside and out. When you’re ready to move to Hailey, call us! We can help you buy a new home that’ll fit your needs. And if you’re already a resident, we look forward to helping you put your existing home or property on the market. Contact us today to let us know what we can do for you.

Here are some of our favorite outdoor activities to do in Hailey.

Sawtooth Botanical Garden

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden has five distinct gardens, which represent the five biomes found in Idaho. Not only is it stunning, but the garden hosts several types of events. Try a garden tour to learn more about the plants, or take one of the many art classes hosted at the garden. If you’re interested in learning more about the world around you, sign up for one of the science workshops!

Take a Hike

Find one of the many hiking trails in the area near or far. Some have shuttles to take you right to the trailhead. Or if something more adventurous is more to your liking, look for a rock-climbing or backpacking trek. The Sawtooth National Recreation Area in particular has tons of activities for all ages and abilities.

Ski or Snowboard

With mountains as majestic as those in our area, it’s only natural that we’d have plenty of places to ski and snowboard! If you’re a beginner, take a lesson at Sun Valley. Or get your adventure on and take one of the heli ski trips to traverse the backcountry.

There’s no such thing as a bad day of fishing. Period. So when you’re ready to cast some lines and spend the day (at the very least) relaxing and enjoying the scenery while possibly catching your dinner, head to one of the many places to fish. Fly fishing is one way, but you can also take a rafting trip or make a weekend out of it. Not sure where to start? You can get in touch with one of the several fishing guides in the area for a one-of-a-kind experience. And fishing isn’t just a summer sport–you haven’t lived until you’ve gone fly fishing waist deep in the river during the wintertime.

To get in touch with the great outdoors, pack some supplies and head up to the high country. Book a site at a local campground that’s fun for the whole family. Or check out a unique experience by renting a yurt high up in the mountains, perfect for quick access to mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, or backcountry skiing.

We’ve barely scratched the surface. When you’re looking for something to do outdoors in the Sun Valley area, you can’t go wrong with any of these activities.
